Conspiracy of Silence

The performance is researching the problems of news media, which by definition and in general perception has the status of a credible informer of the public, so people trust it. It’s a fact that mass media have a strong influence on people’s “personal” beliefs which touch either the opinions about social and political reality or decisions taken in everyday life: what we will eat, what is healthy, what we will wear ... In contemporary society media doesn’t reflect reality, but rather constructs and interprets it. The “truth” that always wins is the one with the best media strategy. The creators showed the absurdity of constructing different realities and individuals who build their beliefs and lives on the basis of distorted truths.
Following the past successful collaborations with the MN Dance Company and its founders Michal Rynia and Nastja Bremec, we produced a new project, based on the creative and synchronised synthesis of dance and theatre arts. The cast of the performance includes six dancers along with two actors from the SNG Nova Gorica ensemble. The music was composed by the French musician Diaphane, with whom Michal Rynia and Nastja Bremec work closely.
