A Perfect Family

A snowy countryside idyll just before Christmas is shattered by a crime – the rich landowner is found murdered in the mansion where he lived with his seven female relatives. Trapped in the house during a snowstorm, the women – each harbouring their own secrets – must take on the crime investigation themselves. The night before the murder no longer seems clear nor can the witnesses be trusted anymore, as they know that at least one of them is the perpetrator. The thriller, laced with dark humour, is driven by strong female characters that reveal complex and dark aspects of family relationships.

The staging process is based on group work – the original text and the characters were adapted to align with the performing procedures and themes, the aspects that are of interest to the young generation. A reinterpretation of an older text emerges with the help of mentors for directing, dramaturgy and acting, and finds its place in today’s time and space, seeing it all through the eyes of young adults.
