The laboratory of life: a laboratory of birth, life and death where everything is physique or physics, yet everything is completely metaphysical. Birth that hurts you, life that injures you, and death that makes you cry.
What are they like, those who are born? What are they like, those who live? How do they live, how do they die? And in between a dance of fathers, mothers, and children, babies and the old, men and women – a dance of life and death, a dance of emotions and body, a laboratory of relationships and sexuality. The apocalyptic world and the world of the unconscious, filled with competitiveness and liberation, violence and thankfulness, contempt and tenderness, fear and peace, anger and love, hatred and catharsis, enslavement and power, homelessness and belonging, judgement and regret, accusations and suicide. The war of people, inside and outside of them.
Jan Cvitkovič (1966), a screenwriter, director, actor, and poet, winner of several national and international awards, will introduce himself to the theatre audience for the first time with his project The Children of Adam and Eve. The project is inspired by his poetry collection Hungry Animal and his film Hundred Dogs. It’s a series of scenes based on intuitive images, linked to the author’s conscious and subconscious perception of life, which strive towards theatre directness and deep expressiveness intended for the spectators’ intense pleasure.
